Time Keeps on Slipping...

Days are getting shorter and the AC has been turned off for three straight days. Where does the time go? I'm sure that many of you always feel the tug of time moving forward and as a tabletop gamer, this is a constant struggle.

I currently rotate between 5 different projects in various stages of completion. This doesn't even include the non-sports themed games that I try to get on the table every now and then. Of course then real life always has a habit of getting in the way!

What I've found has helped me with this issue it to simply, to coin a phrase, let it go. Our time at the tabletop should be a release, a way to escape from the trials and tribulations of life. Gaming should be a way to relive a great season from your favorite childhood sports star. Or it should be a chance to create some history of your own using a fictional set, or doing a fantasy draft and seeing how players would do on a different team, or playing in a different era.

Someday, far in the future, I envision playing out a full Major League Baseball season (with stats) and enjoying rolling out 5-6 games a day. But, in the meantime, I'll equally enjoy being able to slip into the man-cave for an hour to roll out a single game before bedtime.

How do you deal with time constraints to engage in your favorite hobby?
